Preview of the Nine Energy Service Case Study

Nine Energy Service Implements Proactive Driver Risk Management

Nine Energy Service, an oilfield services company with more than 1,500 employees, needed a better way to track all employee drivers, including those using personal vehicles on company time. Relying on annual motor vehicle record reviews and self-reporting left gaps in visibility, especially for license suspensions and other incidents. Insurance pressures and the need to strengthen highway safety made proactive driver risk management a priority.

To address this, Nine Energy Service implemented SambaSafety’s continuous driver monitoring through the Qorta platform, extending oversight to all employees, not just DOT-regulated drivers. By creating a custom scoring system and alerting managers earlier when drivers entered higher-risk categories, Nine was able to intervene with training before issues escalated. With SambaSafety, Nine improved its safety program, reduced the chance of missed violations, and helped avoid significant insurance premium increases.
