Pettis County, Missouri, needed to transition its outdated E-911 system to a digital Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) platform to meet a statewide mandate. The county faced the challenge of validating and updating vast amounts of critical GIS data to ensure emergency responders could be dispatched to the correct location. SAM implemented a comprehensive solution that included field verification of approximately 22,000 addresses and a comparison of road centerline data. Using a custom ArcGIS Collector app, a two-person crew visually inspected locations to ensure data accuracy. The result was a complete and validated set of NG9-1-1 compliant GIS data layers for the county. Thanks to SAM's work, Pettis County residents now have the assurance that first responders will be directed to the correct address during an emergency.
