The Hilton Boston Downtown Faneuil Hall sought to upgrade its aging security system, which relied on magnetic stripe cards and traditional hard keys. The challenge was to implement a modern access control solution that eliminated physical keys and door wiring. They chose Salto Systems to provide an advanced electronic lock system.

Salto Systems implemented its wire-free GEO Cylinder and XS4 escutcheon locks, managed by the innovative SALTO Virtual Network (SVN). This data-on-card solution allows for secure, two-way communication between the offline locks and the system via smartcards. The result was a highly secure atmosphere that enhanced the guest experience. The hotel also planned to integrate with Hilton's Digital Key application, allowing smartphone access.
