Edeka Durasin - Customer Case Study

Edeka Durasin, an independent retailer within the EDEKA cooperative, faced a challenge when opening a new supermarket in Hameln, Germany. They needed an electronic access control system that could integrate with an existing intruder alarm system and be managed remotely. Their key requirements included granular control over access rights and the elimination of security risks and high costs associated with lost mechanical keys. They selected the SALTO KS cloud-based access control solution from vendor SALTO to address these needs.

The solution implemented by SALTO involved installing XS4 Original electronic escutcheons and a wall reader, all wirelessly connected to hubs for real-time communication. This allowed Edeka Durasin to manage access for 30 users remotely via a web platform and mobile app, integrating with their intruder alarm system through hybrid smart tags. The results provided by SALTO include real-time door status monitoring, the ability to quickly deactivate lost credentials, and a scalable system that eliminates the cost and security gap of traditional mechanical locks.
