A Salient Systems Case Study

Securing Your Car when you’re at work, there is someone watching your vehicle

Park New Haven, the City of New Haven’s public parking provider managing about 8,000 spaces (including the 2,600‑space Air Rights Garage next to Yale‑New Haven Hospital), needed to replace aging analog equipment and improve video quality, scalability, administration and real‑time monitoring in its parking facilities. To protect its existing Axis cameras and provide an intuitive, easy‑to‑train interface, Park New Haven selected Salient Systems and its CompleteView VMS following a recommendation from security consultant DVS Security.

Salient Systems’ CompleteView was deployed as the core of a new, integrated security solution that includes 148 IP cameras (8 thermal, 47 PTZ, 93 mini domes), 45 emergency call boxes, 90 speakers, a Software House access control system, a dedicated Cisco security network and a 24/7 staffed control room—all delivered as a $1.9M project. CompleteView’s centralized administration and health monitoring plus Dynamic Resolution Scaling reduced network and client load for faster video call‑up and more responsive real‑time monitoring, enabled integrated communications with Yale‑New Haven Hospital, and allowed fewer operators to manage higher security coverage. Salient Systems’ solution thus modernized operations, simplified maintenance and improved incident readiness.
