Houston Stadium Begins Upgrade Project at Soccer, Multi-use Facility

BBVA Compass Stadium, home to the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash, faced a major security retrofit to replace an older, less capable system and to support a high-turnover guard staff with an open-architecture solution. To meet that challenge the stadium selected Salient Systems and its CompleteView VMS (including Salient’s synopsis video tool), integrating existing Panasonic cameras and new Axis cameras to improve image resolution and usability.

Salient Systems implemented a CompleteView VMS–based solution with fewer than 100 strategically placed 360°, PTZ and fixed cameras (including 4K PTZ), keymapping, analytics and WAN/LAN video rendering; Cultris Security handled installation and DSX was added for access control. The result, Salient reports, is markedly improved image quality, faster forensics and video rendering, easier onboarding of new guards who can use the Salient software immediately, and broader situational awareness (including live city camera views) — with Phase Two of the upgrade planned for 2019.
