Garfield School District - Customer Case Study

Garfield School District sought to modernize campus security across 14 schools and two administrative centers serving 5,300 students, replacing a mixed analog setup and an unsatisfactory VMS with a single IP-based platform. After demonstrations, the district selected Sony cameras and the Salient Systems VMS to move to an all-IP camera backbone and address blind spots, scalability, and ease-of-use.

Salient Systems delivered its VMS—featuring Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS)—integrated with Sony IP cameras and installed by Kratos under the district’s NCPA contract, allowing all sites to be connected on one platform. The rollout has already deployed over 100 IP cameras (with more than 200 planned at the high school and a goal of 400+ districtwide), improved video responsiveness while reducing bandwidth use, and gave Garfield a streamlined, economical solution with centralized management from Salient Systems.
