Dallas Museum of Art - Customer Case Study

The Dallas Museum of Art, which houses more than 24,000 works and serves roughly 600,000 visitors a year, needed a more reliable, user-friendly video system to protect fragile, priceless art while maintaining daily operations. To move from a largely analog installation toward networked IP video without disrupting security, the museum worked with integrator Security 101 and selected Salient Systems’ CompleteView for a hybrid platform that could manage existing cameras and meet goals for incident isolation, monitoring flexibility and improved recording quality.

Salient Systems implemented CompleteView to provide hybrid support for the museum’s roughly 175 installed Vicon cameras (including about 60 PTZs), integrate video with access control for video verification of events and alarms, and deliver real-time alerts via the Alarm Client and Pop Up Monitor with optional audio. The upgrade kept the legacy system operational during transition, improved video quality and incident response, and gave staff enhanced monitoring and peace of mind—protecting both patrons and the museum’s collections.
