Well-aged College goes Modern for Application Tracking and Engagement

Moravian College, founded in 1742 in Bethlehem, PA, is a private liberal arts college of about 2,000 students. Admissions relied on paper files, a shared Excel spreadsheet and a red notebook, leaving traveling counselors without reliable mobile access, no way to track applicant progress, and a time-consuming manual transfer of records into the student information system.

For the 2015–16 cycle Moravian implemented Salesforce with TargetX (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Pardot, Einstein Analytics), Conga and the Premier Success Plan with Accelerators to automate workflows, personalize communications, provide mobile access and integrate with the SIS. The automation saves more than 20 hours of processing per week, cut per-application handling from an hour to 10–15 minutes, and helped double inquiries and significantly increase applications (from 8,324 inquiries/1,465 applications in 2014 to 17,291 inquiries/2,349 applications in early 2018), contributing to roughly a 25% rise in freshman class size.
