A Salesforce for Nonprofits Case Study
The USO’s Pathfinder program helps service members and military spouses transition to civilian life by connecting them with local resources, action plans, and ongoing support. Facing the challenge of serving hundreds of thousands of transitioning personnel nationwide, the organization needed a way to standardize case management, speed follow-up, and provide mobile access so Scouts could track families and coordinate help across communities.
USO implemented Salesforce’s Nonprofit Success Pack for customized Cases and an Action Plan object, and built a mobile Action Plan app on Heroku for real-time access and chat. Workflow automation and Process Builder cut intake-to-first-meeting time from 48 hours to two hours, enabled the USO to serve 50% more people, and delivered a single 360-degree view that standardizes, measures, and improves support nationwide.
