Taylor University, a Christian liberal arts college of about 2,200 students in Upland, Indiana, faced the challenge of shifting admissions from a geography-based to a student-centric academic model while using financial aid strategically and improving retention. With recruiting, admissions, financial aid and student-success data scattered across systems, the university needed better analytics and predictive insight to make proactive, revenue-balanced admissions decisions.
By unifying data on Salesforce—using Sales Cloud, Einstein Analytics, Community Cloud and Pardot and integrating PowerFAIDS—Taylor gave admissions teams predictive probability scores and actionable reports. The result: a sixfold increase in the inquiry pool (from ~10,000 to over 60,000), the largest-ever incoming class in Fall 2018, sustained ~90% retention, and expanded analytics-driven interventions across student services and curriculum.
