Solidaridad is a global NGO that builds sustainable supply chains across nine regional centres, working on commodities from coffee to gold. Faced with strict IATI transparency rules and Dutch government funding requirements, the organisation struggled with a complex legacy grant system that forced staff to rely on spreadsheets, manual reporting, and difficult cross‑region sharing.

Solidaridad built a cloud-based grant management app, Plaza, on the Salesforce App Cloud (moving data into Sales Cloud and using Chatter for collaboration), centralizing financial and project data and automating IATI publishing. The change cut reporting from hundreds of pages and many spreadsheets to a single eight-page narrative, eliminated countless internal emails and calls, boosted adoption and accountability across 700 projects, and freed staff to focus on analysis, fundraising and innovation.
