St John’s Foundation, a Bath-based charity established in 1174, supports thousands of vulnerable people and more than 60 local charities by reinvesting income from its property portfolio. As demand for funding grew — and with £1.4M to allocate in 2017 — the Foundation struggled with time-consuming manual application processing and fragmented reporting, making it hard to measure impact and ensure funds were directed where they were needed most.
By implementing Sales Cloud and Community Cloud (with AppExchange add-ons and the Salesforce Mobile App), St John’s created a branded self-service application portal and centralized its data for a full 360° view of beneficiaries. The result: faster processing, fewer service calls, streamlined communications and evaluation, reliable KPI reporting, and the ability to “account for every penny.” These efficiencies helped secure a larger budget, supported plans to reach thousands more people (targeting an extra 10,000 and 30,000 beneficiaries in 2018), and reinforced strong outcomes for funded partners (97% met objectives).
