Sierra Club Expands Its Grassroots Movement with Salesforce

The Sierra Club, founded in 1892, is the nation’s largest grassroots environmental organization with 2.4 million members and supporters. Faced with resource constraints and a patchwork of online, offline and custom systems, the Club needed a scalable way to integrate multiple data sources, improve identity and mobile access, and better manage large‑donor fundraising and millions of constituent interactions.

Sierra Club implemented Salesforce (NGO Connect, App Cloud, Sales Cloud) to create a single 360‑degree constituent record, centralize fundraising and engagement tracking, and deliver real‑time reporting and dashboards. App Cloud and the AppExchange reduced development burden, while mobility and identity management improved outreach; the result is unified data, faster feedback to supporters, more effective engagement, and a scalable platform to grow its online grassroots movement.
