Salesforce helps Pollinate Energy to light up India

Pollinate Energy equips residents of India’s under-served urban slums with affordable solar lights and clean cookstoves, using local “Pollinators” and international fellows to distribute and support products. Their big challenge was not sales but measuring impact and managing customer data, payments and locations across communities with limited connectivity.

Using Salesforce (Nonprofit Success Pack and App Cloud) plus what3words and Salesforce Classic offline capabilities, Pollinate tracks sales, customer profiles, payment plans and survey results on dashboards, zones work efficiently, and field teams find customers by GPS. The system cut payment defaults from 35% to 2%, and helped Pollinate reach 49,629 people in 886 communities with nearly 11,000 systems, while enabling measurable benefits like safer homes, students studying after dark, lower household costs and reduced carbon emissions.
