Concordia College, a private liberal arts college in Moorhead, Minnesota serving about 2,100 undergraduates, faced declining enrollments and stiff competition as prospective students applied to many more schools. Reliance on an expensive third-party application service gave Concordia little visibility into applicant behavior, prevented tailored communications, and required time-consuming manual re-entry of data.
Working with Apex IT, Concordia implemented Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud and the Salesforce Platform) to centralize student data, track real-time application analytics, and deliver segmented, customized communications and integrated campus-visit scheduling. The change cut manual work, lowered costs, improved messaging through continuous data-driven optimization, and produced a year-over-year enrollment increase — meeting and exceeding the college’s enrollment goal for the first time in six years.
