A Salesforce for Nonprofits Case Study
The University of Southern California launched a $6 billion fundraising campaign in 2011 — the largest in higher education — but its legacy systems made consolidating prospect and constituent data across 21 schools, athletics, hospitals and other units difficult. Advancement staff lacked a way to create complete, actionable profiles, track giving and engagement patterns, or share real‑time information with fundraisers in the field, complicating outreach and analytics.
USC implemented Salesforce.org’s Advancement Connect and the Salesforce1 mobile platform to unify data, generate wealth scores, build relationship maps, personalize communications, and give fundraisers mobile access to prospect ratings, contact histories and next steps. The solution streamlined cross‑departmental workflows, improved analytics and donor personalization, and positioned USC to accelerate progress toward its historic campaign while deepening supporter engagement.
