Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a nonprofit delivering K–12 STEM learning to more than 10,500 U.S. schools, helping students build technical and transferable skills. Rapid growth (20–30% annually) exposed inefficient, spreadsheet-driven processes and fragmented systems that slowed school onboarding, teacher support, grant management, and day-to-day operations.
PLTW implemented an integrated Salesforce stack — Sales Cloud, Pardot, Service Cloud, Social Studio, Community Cloud and Heroku — to centralize prospect tracking, engagement, support, social listening and a teacher portal. The results: a 27% lift in email open rates and 151% increase in subscribers, service teams accessing unified records, community adoption above 80% with most orders moving to the portal and average order lines increasing fourfold, plus streamlined grant tracking and easier scaling.
