Points of Light focuses its volunteer efforts with Salesforce

Points of Light, a U.S.-based nonprofit that mobilizes volunteers to tackle social challenges, needed to replace an outdated, costly iMIS system and support a newly merged network of affiliates and corporate partners that had been using different volunteer-management tools.

They implemented Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Force.com) to consolidate fundraising and volunteer data, add a content library and a self-service portal, and build HandsOnConnect — a customizable Force.com app used by 250+ affiliates to recruit and schedule volunteers. The result was real-time, centralized reporting, faster custom app deployment, improved affiliate service and information sharing, and more efficient volunteer recruitment and scheduling.
