Philanthropy Cloud Helps Synoptek Employees Participate in Virtual Philanthropy During COVID

Synoptek, an IT management and consulting firm of over 800 employees across the U.S., Canada, and India, struggled to scale an ad hoc philanthropy program—especially after remote work jumped from about 20% to more than 90% during the pandemic. With no dedicated CSR team and initial efforts driven by the CEO and CTO, regional managers were reluctant leaders and the company lacked a coordinated, enthusiastic approach to giving.

After partnering with United Way and adopting Salesforce.org Philanthropy Cloud, Synoptek shifted leadership to its most enthusiastic employees, ran a virtual Week of Giving with friendly regional competition, and matched volunteer hours at $25 each. The result: record engagement (about 62% of employees active on the platform), stronger inclusion of remote workers, renewed employee purpose and pride, and plans to expand use of Philanthropy Cloud’s Champion role to sustain momentum.
