Northeast Community College Improves Recruiting and Retention using Salesforce for a 360-Degree View of Students

Northeast Community College, a community college serving traditional, transfer, and occupational students, faced the challenge of recruiting and retaining a highly diverse student population with varied needs. Seeking scalable, measurable processes, the college began using Salesforce Sales Cloud in 2009 and moved quickly to integrate it with their Student Information System and other campus data to get a single, comprehensive view of prospects and students.

By centralizing prospect records and integrating with the SIS, recruiters now track visits, communications, financial aid status, test scores and career interests in one place, with dashboards to monitor outreach efficiency. An automated early-alert system and a predictive “FAME score” trigger retention cases and alerts for advisors, while academic support and tutoring data are tracked and analyzed. The result: real-time visibility for advisors, more targeted interventions, and over 4,500 advising cases processed through Salesforce to date.
