How University of Kentucky Reinvented Campus Operations for a Safe Return to Campus with Work.com

The University of Kentucky, a large public flagship known for its residential campus experience, faced the challenge of safely reopening for the fall 2020 semester amid the COVID-19 pandemic while preserving its brand promise and retaining students. Leaders formed a 500+ person task force and prioritized transparent communication and daily health screenings as core elements of their reopening strategy.

UK selected Salesforce Work.com along with Marketing, Community, and Health Clouds to deploy daily symptom checks, a testing and reporting app, a workplace command center, contact tracing, and emergency response capabilities. The solution enabled secure, HIPAA-compliant tracking and targeted communications, allowing students, faculty, and staff to return to campus in fall 2020 with safety measures in place and positioning the university to be more agile for future health, telehealth, and inclusion initiatives.
