How LifeMoves uses Salesforce to connect with its community to defeat homelessness

LifeMoves is a Bay Area nonprofit that provides transitional housing and services across 17 sites, sheltering more than 850 people each night. Faced with siloed volunteer and donor systems and spreadsheets for client tracking, staff lacked a single, up-to-date view of constituents and struggled to coordinate outreach, reporting, and program effectiveness across locations.

By migrating 20+ years of data into Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and the NPSP and adding SMS Magic, LifeMoves gained a unified constituent view, audience segmentation, and real‑time program dashboards. The organization now runs targeted fundraising tests (including planned-giving outreach to 800 supporters), increased major gifts and overall revenue, improved case management with text communications, and used data-driven insights to reduce rapid client exits and strengthen program impact.
