Age UK Hythe and Lyminge, a local branch of Age UK supporting older adults since 1975, needed to contact thousands of patients aged 70+ at the start of the COVID‑19 pandemic to ensure their safety and basic needs. The effort was hampered by a paper‑based process and sensitive contact lists kept at the office, with only ten volunteers allowed onsite—an unscalable setup for reaching so many people.
With pro bono help from Salesforce.org (Isabel Wenzl‑Arellano and Jonny Elliot) using the Nonprofit Success Pack/Nonprofit Cloud, the charity securely centralized contact data, deployed flow‑based call scripts, and automated follow‑up tasks so volunteers could work remotely. The solution enabled volunteers to safely contact 18,000 vulnerable people, accelerated the charity’s digital transformation, and raised its profile, earning public recognition for its leadership.
