Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco - Customer Case Study

Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco is a 45-person nonprofit that creates affordable homeownership and neighborhood-revitalization opportunities in one of the nation’s most expensive housing markets; over 30 years it has built about 250 homes, repaired roughly 150, and mobilizes some 6,000 volunteers annually. The organization struggled with paper- and Excel-based processes that made program management, volunteer coordination, and impact reporting slow and time-consuming, limiting staff capacity to serve homeowners and demonstrate results to stakeholders.

In 2014 Habitat implemented Salesforce solutions — the Nonprofit Success Pack, Community Cloud, Einstein Analytics, and AppExchange tools like HomeKeeper, Volunteers for Salesforce, and DocuSign — to centralize programs, digitize the homeowner journey, and create an online community for constituents. The change freed staff for field work, enabled real-time reporting and aggregated impact analysis for stronger advocacy, improved volunteer and homeowner engagement, and set the stage to unify fundraising for a full 360-degree view of constituent relationships.
