A Salesforce for Nonprofits Case Study
Grassroot Soccer (GRS) is an adolescent health organisation that uses the power of soccer to educate and mobilise young people. Growing from 25 employees and 4,000 adolescents reached in 2009 to partners in 30+ countries impacting 100,000 young people a year, GRS had outgrown paper files and spreadsheets and needed a central, scalable system to manage program and partner data and to measure what worked.
GRS implemented Salesforce (Sales Cloud, App Cloud) — building the SKILLZ Scoreboard, Visualforce-based partner data entry and a customised “Data Stadium” portal — so partners (including Peace Corps volunteers) can enter data in near real-time. The system delivered better visibility and ownership of data, revealed program insights (e.g., higher dropout among grade‑9 girls that led to content improvements), enabled holistic reporting across contexts, and supported GRS’s rapid, data-driven expansion.
