A Salesforce for Nonprofits Case Study
The University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership & Public Policy, founded in 2011 to train leaders and tackle complex public policy challenges, needed to move beyond siloed departments and manual processes. Advisors were overwhelmed by emails and spreadsheets, work was duplicated, and paper plans often left the school with no persistent student records — prompting leadership to seek a scalable, student‑centric system.
Batten implemented Salesforce Advisor Link with Education Data Architecture, Community Cloud and Einstein Analytics to create a single 360° student record and a one‑stop portal for appointments, notes and support. Within weeks advisors gained easy access to shared student histories and dashboards for leaders, boosting advisor productivity and satisfaction, improving student engagement, and enabling data‑driven decision making across the school.
