A Salesforce for Nonprofits Case Study
The University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business faced a common MBA challenge: how to keep 48 working professionals engaged and learning between intense, biweekly sessions in Dr. David Sutherland’s Professional MBA Innovation Management course. With limited time and a need for stronger peer collaboration, the program sought a social, easy-to-use way to sustain discussion, teamwork, and idea development outside the classroom.
Dr. Sutherland deployed Salesforce Chatter to distribute assignments, form teams, share ideas across groups, and reduce reliance on email, while also tracking participation and identifying influencers or disengaged students for timely interventions. The platform required no training, fostered richer collaboration and innovation, and delivered measurable impact: a 54% increase in learning objectives achieved and 88% of students reporting Chatter significantly contributed to their learning.
