Community connections help veterans come home

IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America) is the largest organization serving veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, focused on rebuilding community and easing the transition back to civilian life. Facing a dispersed generation of veterans who often lack local peer networks, IAVA needed fast, scalable online tools to connect members with jobs, services and each other.

Using Salesforce Sales Cloud, Chatter and Force.com, IAVA launched the Rucksack rewards program in six weeks to connect returning vets with employment, education and community opportunities. The solution increased IAVA’s capacity five-fold, added more than 38,000 members, generated 75+ partnership requests and expanded a network of 100+ partners, while enabling member tracking, automated operations, impact measurement and plans for a unified member portal.
