A Salesforce for Nonprofits Case Study
The College of St. Scholastica, an independent private college that has nearly doubled enrollment and expanded into non‑traditional evening, weekend and online programs, faced growing pains in 2013 when its legacy data tool reached end‑of‑life. Rapid enrollment growth and a dispersed recruiting team created manual processes, duplicate records and limited reporting, so recruiters defined a “dream screen” and the college sought a scalable CRM with better flexibility and analytics.
St. Scholastica implemented Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Salesforce1 Mobile, Chatter), integrated it with the student information system and website, and automated prospect capture to eliminate manual entry and duplicates. The platform enabled new reporting and analytics (giving managers visibility into recruiter workloads), automated personalized marketing communications, improved internal collaboration via Chatter, and required only brief training for fast adoption; the college now plans to expand Salesforce to advisement and OneStop services.
