Child’s i starts a new wave of child welfare with Salesforce

Child’s i Foundation, founded by Lucy Buck in 2009, works to place Uganda’s orphaned children with loving families rather than in institutional care. Facing a context of 800 orphanages and 50,000 children — many of whom have relatives and waiting adopters — the small charity needed better case tracking, transparency for donors, remote coordination and more efficient use of limited staff and volunteer resources.

Using Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack, Sales Cloud and Chatter, Child’s i built a social-care case management system to match children with families, track each child’s progress for three years, and provide dashboards for reporting. Real-time updates and volunteer collaboration improved donor engagement and unlocked pro-bono support; the platform has enabled hundreds of placements, increased operational efficiency and data security, and created a scalable base to train care homes and improve outcomes for 1,000+ children.
