Camfed scales girls education with Salesforce

Camfed is an international non-profit that helps marginalized girls in sub‑Saharan Africa go to school, succeed, and lead; since 1993 it has reached more than 3.5 million children across Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi. As its programmes and the CAMA alumnae network expanded rapidly, Camfed faced the challenge of tracking every student’s situation and attendance, mobilising local volunteers with limited staff, and responding quickly to girls at risk of dropping out.

Using Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack and Salesforce CRM as a single platform, Camfed built detailed profiles for over 220,000 pupils, equips community activists to collect mobile data at 5,270 partner schools, and integrates donor and finance data for real‑time decision‑making. The system identifies at‑risk girls and directs timely interventions (in one school graduates brought 58 pupils back to class in a month), improves retention and programme monitoring via dashboards, and is helping Camfed scale impact toward its goal of supporting one million girls through secondary school.
