Bremer Bank Boosts Employee Giving 20% with Philanthropy Cloud

Bremer Bank, a regional bank with 90 branches across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, was founded on the principle of reinvesting profits into local communities and focuses its philanthropy on affordable housing, financial literacy, and economic empowerment. Despite a long history of workplace giving, the bank’s annual United Way campaigns were run manually at each branch, creating heavy administrative burdens, inconsistent messaging, and a need to modernize the program.

Working with United Way, Bremer adopted Salesforce.org Philanthropy Cloud to run a single, companywide campaign for 1,700 employees while preserving the option for donors to direct gifts locally. Branch “champions” deliver standardized messaging, centralized tracking replaced manual reports, and year‑round giving and virtual volunteering were enabled. The change drove nearly a 20% increase in employee giving, helped employees raise $570,000 in 2020 (including a $100,000 COVID relief drive), supported the packing of 6,500 kits and backpacks, and dramatically reduced administrative work.
