Bonergie is a Senegal-based social business founded by Gabriele Schwarz that sells solar products (lamps, pumps, dryers, home systems) to help address the lack of electricity across Africa. Faced with the logistical challenges of servicing dispersed customers, managing maintenance contracts, warranties and flexible payments, and the need to reinvest profits for growth, Bonergie needed an efficient way to handle customer data and operations while keeping costs low.

With support from Salesforce.org, Bonergie implemented Sales Cloud and received consulting, setup and customization help, including GSM-linked remote maintenance alerts integrated into the system. The solution improved customer-data management and transparency, reduced technician travel by resolving faults remotely when possible, freed up revenue for reinvestment, and positioned the company to expand into other countries.
