Bolton College connects more students with opportunities using Salesforce

Bolton College, which offers over 800 courses and works with more than 1,000 local businesses to place learners into apprenticeships and work experience, needed a better way to match students with vocational opportunities as government funding shifted toward apprenticeships. The college’s employer data was siloed across outdated systems, leaving staff without a clear view of which employers offered which apprenticeships, whether they were new or returning customers, or the history of interactions.

By adopting Sales Cloud through Salesforce.org, Bolton College consolidated employer interactions, tracked enquiries from prospect to placement, and enabled mobile access for staff. The system now powers reports that reveal apprenticeship trends and inform curriculum planning, and the college is building an app to further streamline placements. As a result, productivity and visibility have improved, the programme has grown, and customer satisfaction has risen from 7.8 to 9.6.
