The American Red Cross, a national emergency relief and preparedness organization, needed a better way to manage relationships with volunteers, donors, blood donors and local field units and to communicate quickly during crises. With information spread across 150 national partners and more than 500 local units, the organization needed faster volunteer onboarding, coordinated disaster response, and real-time public outreach through social channels.
By adopting Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and ExactTarget Marketing Cloud, the Red Cross consolidated supporter and volunteer data, enabled mobile volunteer access for rapid deployment, and launched a Digital Operations Center to monitor social media. The result: faster, lower-cost volunteer onboarding and coordination, improved situational awareness and data-driven outreach that helps position workers and measure campaign effectiveness during emergencies.
