ALONE is a national charity that helps older people age at home through befriending, advocacy, support coordination and housing services. Faced with manual processes, Excel-based client tracking and a labour-intensive volunteer recruitment system, the organisation needed a technology strategy that would centralise data, enable mobile case management, and let it measure impact and scale services efficiently.
ALONE implemented Salesforce (NPSP and Community Cloud) as a central hub, creating an electronic assessment tool, mobile access for support coordinators, automated volunteer onboarding from the website, and custom reports and dashboards. The result: reduced administration, faster recruitment and vetting, improved donor engagement and real-time visibility of caseloads and outcomes, and a roadmap to a sensor- and app-driven platform that will further extend services and roll out to partner befriending organisations.
