Electric Skies brings Kindred to Venice Immersive with Salamandra.uk

Electric Skies, a content production company, was commissioned by StoryFutures Academy to create an immersive VR animation as part of a larger UK-wide project. Their challenge was to produce a unique virtual reality experience, "Kindred," based on a true story about the adoption process, moving beyond traditional screen-based animation. They engaged the animation services of salamandra.uk to bring this ambitious project to life.

salamandra.uk utilized a combination of 3D, CGI, and experimental techniques to animate the short film specifically for VR, creating an environment where the viewer feels part of the story. The solution was highly successful; the resulting VR animation, "Kindred," was selected for the prestigious Venice Immersive program at the 2022 Venice Film Festival, providing significant recognition for the project.
