The University of Reading, an international public university in England, faced a semi-manual identity program that created inconsistent, time-consuming access provisioning for students, guest users and staff. To streamline onboarding and offboarding and improve everyday access, the university set out to build a dynamic, automated identity program.
By deploying SailPoint’s identity platform and reducing reliance on legacy/homegrown systems, Reading cut time-to-access from four days to 24 hours, enabled immediate removal of access on termination, and introduced self-service password and profile management. The result was lower risk and a much improved IT experience for staff and students.
