Preview of the General Electric Case Study

SailPoint helps GE cut costs and unify its global security efforts

General Electric (GE) faced the challenge of consolidating a fragmented identity program across its three global business units while meeting strict compliance requirements like SOX and improving access management at scale. GE turned to SailPoint Technologies and its identity security platform to unify security and governance, reduce audit burden, and modernize a legacy identity environment across its regulated businesses.

SailPoint Technologies implemented a centralized identity governance solution for more than 1,800 applications and 1.8 million users, bringing GE onto a single platform with consistent processes for access requests, certifications, and password management. The results included 50% fewer staff needed to manage the program, a reduction from 25 people to 2 for access audits globally, and more than $2 million saved annually on password requests; GE also improved employee satisfaction, with Net Promoter Score rising from negative to above 20.
