The Fortune 50 Insurance Company, one of the largest health insurance providers in the United States, needed a better way to manage rapid growth, acquisitions, compliance, and access risk while lowering operational costs. To address these challenges, it partnered with SailPoint Technologies and used SailPoint IdentityIQ to simplify access requests, onboarding, and role-based access management across a large and complex environment.

SailPoint Technologies helped the company automate provisioning and certification at scale, reaching 100% access profiles for 2,700 business roles and 55,000 users across 36 applications and platforms. The results included a significant reduction in unit cost per joiner, mover, leaver, and access ticket cost, plus automation of 20 million access control actions in 2022, equivalent to 507 FTEs, with nearly 22 million projected in 2023, equivalent to 538 FTEs.
