ECU Health streamlines, secures, and automates onboarding

ECU Health, a healthcare provider serving 1.4 million people, needed a better way to secure sensitive health information and streamline identity and access management. Its existing system was limited, time-consuming, inflexible, and largely manual, making onboarding slow and increasing the risk of errors while also creating compliance and access-control challenges. ECU Health selected SailPoint Technologies and its IdentityNow platform to improve security, efficiency, and flexibility.

SailPoint Technologies implemented IdentityNow with integrations for PeopleSoft, Microsoft Active Directory, Epic, and EMP, using capabilities such as Access Certifications, Access Requests, Provisioning, Compliance, and Separation of Duties. The results were significant: new-user onboarding dropped from up to a couple of weeks to about four hours, access is now automatically provisioned, and IT staff can spend more time on higher-value work. SailPoint Technologies also helped ECU Health use AI-driven identity security to identify access outliers and tighten governance, improving both user experience and compliance.
