Electric regulator powers GRC with SAI360

The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is the Electric Reliability Organization for the U.S., Canada and part of Mexico, responsible for mandatory reliability standards and oversight of the bulk power system. NERC faced fragmented tools and processes across its six regional entities—more than ten core business processes and dozens of different systems—making it difficult to manage compliance for 1,500 registered entities, adapt to regional operational differences, and respond to changing generation sources and regulatory risk.

In 2017 NERC selected SAI360 after a formal, regionally inclusive RFP to deploy a unified GRC platform with configurable workflows, strong reporting and a secure evidence locker. The implementation centralized management of roughly 6,000 named accounts across 1,500 entities, cut reporting time dramatically (queries that once took a long time now return in about 30 minutes), enabled consistent, cross-region audits and mutual-aid support, and materially improved efficiency and risk oversight.
