Case Study: Johnson Controls achieves a modern, time-saving ethics & compliance program with SAI Global

A SAI Global Case Study

Preview of the Johnson Controls Case Study

How the company transformed from a traditional to modern ethics and compliance program

Johnson Controls engaged SAI Global to modernize its global ethics & compliance (E&C) program, replacing a traditional, “check-the-box” approach that required 6–10 hours of annual training with a more learner-focused, scalable solution. Working with SAI Global, Johnson Controls sought shorter, role‑targeted content, adaptive learning features (profiling, test‑out, action mazes), LMS integration and enhanced analytics to reduce fatigue, respect employees’ time, and capture data to drive continuous improvement.

SAI Global rebuilt Johnson Controls’ online annual training with condensed, interactive modules, adaptive pre‑tests and gamified scenarios, plus analytics to tailor learning by role and prior knowledge. The overhaul cut annual training to under 90 minutes, raised completion rates from 96.9% (2015) to 99.3% (2017), improved overall satisfaction (3.8 to 4.0 out of 5 and 76% to 81% agreeing they were satisfied), increased learners reporting they learned something new (40%) with 80% of those saying they would apply it, boosted test‑out results, and helped JCI win Gold at the 2017 Brandon Hall Awards — outcomes achieved in partnership with SAI Global.
