Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal SH&E Obligations Management and GRC Software

Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT), a major global coal exporter, faced the high-stakes challenge of ensuring safety, health and environment (SH&E) compliance across a complex and rapidly changing regulatory landscape. To create a “closed loop” system that keeps obligations current, assigns site-level ownership and delivers timely reporting, DBCT engaged SAI Global to develop a SH&E Compliance Obligations Register and to deploy SAI Global’s GRC software.

SAI Global delivered a comprehensive register (up to 145 obligation registers) mapped to 145 business processes and 20 job roles, and now provides monthly updates to manage roughly 1,500 SH&E obligation changes per year (~30 per week). Using SAI Global’s GRC Platform to automate workflows, assign tasks, escalate overdue actions and produce dashboards and audit trails, DBCT gained real-time oversight, clear task ownership at site level, streamlined executive and board reporting, and an embedded culture of SH&E compliance.
