Contact Energy Employees lead EHS risk reduction

Contact Energy, one of New Zealand’s largest listed companies with more than 1,000 employees across 11 power stations, needed to fix a poorly adopted, internally developed Management of Change system that produced inconsistent and incomplete EHS data and limited visibility of safety risks. To support its Operational Safety Improvement Program (OSIP) and boost front‑line engagement, Contact Energy selected SAI Global’s EHS Manager 360 as the replacement solution.

SAI Global implemented a user‑driven, configurable EHS Manager 360 platform with multiple workflows and a central web‑based source of truth, enabling front‑line teams to configure and use the system with minimal technical support. Since the December 2016 rollout, daily unique users rose from ~20 to >100, more than 600 changes had been initiated by September 2017, data quality and adoption improved markedly, decision‑making became more collaborative, and Contact Energy is expanding three additional Management of Change–related processes into EHS Manager 360.
