u‑blox, the Swiss‑headquartered semiconductor and GPS provider, outgrew manual HR processes as it expanded through new offices and acquisitions. Managing approvals and records with Word documents and an inflexible legacy system became error‑prone and unscalable for cross‑border teams.

In November 2014 u‑blox implemented Sage Business Cloud People — chosen for its Salesforce‑based platform, flexibility and scalability — and rolled it out in phased trials with short how‑to videos for users. The cloud HCM delivered greater transparency, faster approvals, fewer errors, self‑service reporting and easier addition of new businesses, with payroll and time‑and‑attendance integration planned next.
