Tuffy halves its inventory value with Sage Inventory Advisor

Tuffy, a Cape Town-based manufacturer of plastic consumer goods, faced chronic excess inventory as a buffer to maintain customer service levels while managing planning in Excel from their SAGE 300 ERP. To free up working capital and improve forecasting accuracy, Tuffy turned to Sage Inventory Advisor to replace manual spreadsheets and better control stock across its five depots serving major retailers.

Sage Inventory Advisor was integrated with Tuffy’s SAGE 300 data and configured with item-level profiles, safety stocks and an S&OP process that lets sales adjust forecasts before recommended orders are applied. The result: Sage Inventory Advisor helped Tuffy reduce inventory value by R30 million in 12 months, cut monthly production planning time from about two days to 2–3 hours, and maintained customer service levels.
