A Sage Intacct Case Study
W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research, a nonprofit in Michigan that conducts employment research and runs workforce programs, needed to modernize its 20-year-old server‑based fund accounting system so its finance team could play a more strategic role. The pandemic exposed the system’s remote-access and workflow limitations, and the Institute sought a cloud solution that could handle complex funding, projects, and reporting requirements while improving internal controls.
The Institute implemented Sage Intacct with a trusted partner, migrating transaction history and adopting dimensions, smart rules/events, the Projects module, and electronic attachments. The result: simplified chart of accounts, automated controls and workflows, faster remote access, streamlined audits and expected audit cost savings, richer dashboards and reporting for proactive decision‑making, improved project collaboration, and a finance team reporting 100% engagement and satisfaction.
