Peoples Services is a 700‑person network of 3PL companies operating 45 warehouses across seven states that provides warehousing, transportation and fulfillment services. The company was running a heavily customized, DOS‑based AS/400 financial system that required separate charts of accounts by location, delayed journal entries and month‑end closes, and depended on a retired programmer for changes — creating slow closes, limited visibility, and reporting bottlenecks.
After implementing Sage Intacct with partner Cargas, Peoples Services moved to a single chart of accounts, automated recurring entries, and built custom reports and dashboards for about 36 managers. The finance team now saves roughly 20 hours a month (about 16 on journal entries and 4 on consolidations), cuts up to three days from the monthly close (now as few as eight days), delivers timelier financials and budgeting, and has improved decision‑making, cash monitoring and staff morale.
